Get your questions about hypnosis answered.
You’ve already been hypnotized.
You just didn’t know it.
Now we'll do it on purpose.
The result? Fast, lasting change.
Ever catch yourself staring out a window, totally zoned out, then snap back and realize five minutes have passed? That is actually hypnosis.
Or at least a natural everyday version of it.
Hypnosis isn't some mysterious state you've never experienced. Your brain already knows how to go there. In fact, it does it all the time.
When you're driving down the road and sort of zone out on a podcast.
When you get caught up in the emotion of that TV show you binged last weekend.
When you hear a song you love and can't help but sing or move your body to it.
Or even in those moments when you find yourself repeating the same old patterns, despite your desire to change them.
Hypnosis isn't mind control. It's just focus control.
When we use this hypnotic focus intentionally (like in a session with me), we're just helping your brain do what it already knows how to do but pointing it in the right direction.
You've already been hypnotized probably a dozen times today (or more), but the real question is:
How will your life change when you start using it on purpose?
Imagine if you had to make a conscious effort to tie your shoes every time you put them on!
Thankfully, your "subconscious" is a highly efficient part of your brain that learns and stores and creates behavior patterns.
In other words, it's the part of your mind and nervous system that keeps things moving on autopilot. It learns from things that happen and stores your memories, beliefs, reactions, even how you see yourself, and loops them as patterns.
But it's also that voice that says, "I can't," or "This is just the way I am," or "I always mess this up."
And most of the time, that subconscious part of you is just trying to "keep you safe." But what kept you safe at age 7 or even 18 might be keeping you stuck now.
Hypnosis is how we start a conversation with that part of you. We update the "automatic script" by teaching it something new to loop.
And it's because your subconscious learned one way of doing things in the past that it can learn something new.
Your "conscious" mind is the part you think is in charge.
It's your inner monologue. That one that makes to-do lists, overthinks what you said in that conversation the other day, and tries really hard to "make better choices."
And if you're like me, it helps you solve sudoku puzzles with logic or put together a new piece of furniture.
Being able to analyze and think critically and make decisions is useful for your survival.
But your conscious mind doesn't work alone. Once it takes in information, it's your "subconscious" that checks for the "default setting."
That's why making a change in your life may seem difficult...
That's why it's so frustrating when you know what you want to do and still don't do it.
When your "subconscious" default setting is a well-worn pattern, even when you consciously want a change, the default setting will win out every time.
The conscious mind may set the intention, but it's the subconscious patterns that drive the car.
Working with me, we'll use hypnosis to update your default settings so that you can consciously decide to make a change... and actually follow through on it this time.
You've got a brain. Check.
You've got a nervous system. Check.
You really want to make a change in your life. Check.
Hypnosis isn't some rare superpower that only a few people have.
It's a natural state your mind already enters all the time. You've likely slipped into it today while scrolling, driving, or zoning out mid-conversation.
The real key? Openness.
When we work together, I tailor the whole process to you.
My clients often say it's easy, insightful, relaxing, and surprisingly familiar, like something they didn't realize they already knew how to do.
I'll take you through the process, step by step.
And it's something you'll keep using to support your success long after our time together is done.
I did once have a client snore the entire time and report being consciously aware of it happening...
The movies and TV love to make hypnosis out to be some woo-woo magic trick, like you're going to experience amnesia or lose control.
But the work we do together is actually a state of calm, focused awareness.
You won't be unconscious. You won't be asleep. You won't wake up wondering what just happened to you.
In fact, you'll hear everything I say. You'll sometimes notice sounds around you. Sometimes you'll zone out as you "go within" and go into a daydream, and that's totally normal. But if I asked you a question, you could answer it easily.
In other words, you'll be alert and in control the whole time, and you'll open your eyes easily at the end of our session.
And many of my clients report feeling like they took a refreshing, energizing nap and spend the rest of their day in a state of calm and relaxation.

Let's get started.
Every person experiences hypnosis a little bit differently. And that's kind of the point. At the end of your session, I'll ask you what it felt like, because there's no one right answer.
Some of my clients report feeling floaty, like their body softened and drifted. Others feel heavy, like they settled underneath a warm weighted blanket.
Some feel like they went somewhere else in a daydream for a bit. Others feel like they were just sitting there, deeply chill, listening to my voice.
One of the most common things I hear is: "I didn't expect it to feel so... normal."
What matters more than how it feels during the session is what starts to shift afterward.
Movies often make it seem dramatic, but in most sessions, hypnosis is more like closing ten browser tabs in your mind and finally being able to hear yourself think.
And the more we work together, the more your brain learns to go deeper and clearer and build on the progress from the session before.
Well, hypnosis isn't something I "do" to you. It's something we do together, and that only happens with your consent, cooperation, and participation in the process.
You'll hear everything I say. You'll stay aware the entire time.
And no, you won't reveal your deepest secrets or do anything weird against your will.
In fact, clients often tell me something like, "My body just listened! I knew what your were saying, and it felt like my whole system just followed along."
It's also pretty common to wonder if you're "too strong-willed" to be hypnotized, but fun fact:
Strong focus, independence, and a sharp mind can actually make you an ideal client that goes into hypnosis more easily.
So, if your fear is losing control, what you might actually be surprised to discover is just how much more control you gain over your thoughts, your feelings, your patterns, your reactions, and your behaviors.
Yep, hypnosis is completely safe.
In fact, you already go in and out of hypnotic "trance" states all the time, like when you're driving on autopilot, doom-scrolling social media without thinking, or getting lost in a good movie.
Nobody freaks out about that, so why would this be any different?
When we do it intentionally, as a cooperative process with you and me working together, it just means you're entering that same focused state on purpose, with me guiding you in the right direction to create that meaningful change you want in your life.
And here's the thing: You're still in charge the whole time.
You can talk, move, open your eyes, or end the session at any point. Your mind won't take in anything it doesn't agree with. This isn't mind control. It's collaboration.
I help you reorganize your thoughts, feelings, reactions, and behaviors in a way that supports the person you're becoming.
So yeah, it's safe. And if at any point something doesn't feel right for you? You'll be able to tell me, and we'll adjust. That's how this works. Together.
Sometimes people cry. Sometimes people laugh. Sometimes they feel a tightness in their chest that's been there for years finally release.
Personally? I tend to giggle and feel giddy.
Your subconscious mind has been holding onto old patterns for some time, and when we finally give it the space to let go? Things can move, and you may feel things.
That's not a problem. And it's actually a sign we're doing something real. But you may not have these kinds of experiences at all!
This is about giving your brain and nervous system permission to let go of what's no longer needed, that stuff that's been holding you back, at your own pace and in your own way.
Some clients feel a wave of emotion during the session. Other feel it afterward, like something shifted and they're still catching up.
Either way, it's valid. It's welcome. And you're not alone in it.
Meditation is great. Talk therapy can be very helpful. In fact, I see a therapist every other week and I find myself meditating regularly to wonderful benefit in my life.
But hypnosis works on a different level: the automatic pattern level that's running the show.
Meditation helps you build awareness.
Talk therapy helps you reflect and process.
Hypnosis helps you recode the patterns that are running underneath it all.
During hypnosis, you're not just watching your thoughts float by and concentrating on your breath. You're working directly with the part of your mind that keeps score, runs loops, and tries to protect you (sometimes in ways that don't actually help anymore, which is why you're on this page).
And you don't have to know how to "fix it" beforehand. And you don't have to rehash every detail of your past.
We go straight to where the pattern lives and offer your subconscious mind a better way to move forward.
Clients often tell me things like: "I've been talking about this in therapy for years, and we just cleared it in one session."
Now, that's not a promise, but it's a pattern I've seen. And when we clarify your goals (that is, what you WANT, rather than what you DON'T WANT), things can move pretty damn fast.

Let's get started.
If you want to be successful with hypnosis, it usually comes down to two things: your readiness and willingness to change, and the right-fit-for-you hypnotist (see the next FAQ).
If you're only coming in because someone else wants you to change... How willing are you going to be to participate in what I have to say?
You've got to want the change for YOU.
Otherwise, your mind won't be open to the suggestions for change. You'll find every reason to stay stuck in the old habits, because you're just not ready.
Think of it this way...
If you went to buy a new car, and the salesperson was weird or annoying or pushy... how likely do you think it would be that you would want to find the right car with them?
Or you remember that one teacher that put you to sleep? I thought I hated history until I discovered people who were passionate about sharing the stories that changed the world.
Even if it winds up not being me, you need to find the RIGHT hypnotist that you feel comfortable with. Not just the first one you find (unless you happen to click).
And my promise to you?
When we have a conversation about your goals, it's ONLY if and when I feel I can help you succeed that I will tell you what those next steps will look like.
Well, I'm not a medical doctor, and I don't offer "therapy" in a clinical sense. I don't "treat" medical conditions, nor do I offer clinical advice.
That said, the words "hypnotist" and "hypnotherapist" mean the same thing, and they're used pretty interchangeably in the industry.
I use the word "hypnotist" because I like the title, personally.
And it's more commonly searched and more direct. People tend to say they searched for "hypnotist near me" or "hypnosis for XYZ" far more often than "hypnotherapist" because traditional "therapies" failed them.
But hey, if you want to call me your hypnotherapist, I'm cool with that too.
It's all the same work to help you uncover your ability to make meaningful changes in your life without all the inner friction.
Hypnosis itself isn't government licensed in the U.S., U.K., Canada, or Australia, but it is regulated by professional training organizations. However, to get a bit technical, the word "therapy" is in fact protected by law in some places.
I am board-certified by the International Certification Board Of Coaches and Hypnotists, and I continue to receive additional training every year to stay on top of the latest research, tools, techniques, and best practices.
Hypnosis isn't magic, exactly.
But it certainly can feel like magic when it creates powerful change in your life faster than you'd expect.
If you're a new client, I'll start you with at least 2 sessions to help you get the traction you need...
Here's why...
Some issues resolve quickly, especially when we're removing a specific internal block you've been experiencing. Think a specific phobia, an upcoming thing that's been stressing you out, or help with taking action on a specific goal that you've been procrastinating.
Others (like anxiety, identity work, weight loss, long-term habit change) do best with a little more support. Think 4 to perhaps even 12 sessions, depending on your goals.
This isn't cookie-cutter work, just like it wouldn't be if you were meeting with a personal trainer to get fit.
We'll figure out the right plan for you when we meet to talk about your goals.
This gives us the flexibility to personalize your session plan, provides you ongoing support, and tools to strengthen your progress. It's customized, collaborative, and designed to bring you the lasting results you've been looking for.
Most people start feeling benefits after just one session, but the real magic unfolds as your mind becomes familiar with the process, and you choose it again and again.
It's my mission to help you resolve your challenge quickly and effectively so that you have the tools to build your independence!
Our first session together is 90-minute deep dive. We'll explore what's really going on beneath the surface, get clear on your goals, and begin the work straight away.
I'll also walk you through what to expect, answer any lingering questions, and even share my first experience with hypnosis, so this doesn't feel mysterious to you before we begin.
In most sessions, I'll share resources or teach you self-hypnosis tools so that you feel empowered to support your own progress between sessions.
If you're serious about changing your life, you'll use what I teach to bring to your day-to-day life so that it becomes a lasting part of who you are.
After our time together, I'll email you the resources I've mentioned in our session.
Later sessions after our deep-dive usually run 45 minutes to 60 minutes. I recommend planning for the full hour, because this isn't a rush job!
Helping you succeed is my mission.
And if, in the end, when you find that this work makes a difference in your life, I'd be grateful for you to share your experience, because it could be the reason someone else finally says yes to themselves.
